Ignited By Truth conference was great! Met lots of wonderfully spirited folks...and have a good number who signed up to win a free Living Room Concert! ...and a number of people who picked up a Kim Kalman Christian music sampler to bring back to their church community with the hopes of scheduling a concert date in the near future. Here are some of the areas in NC I'll be looking at: Fayetteville, Southern Pines, Wilmington, Rocky Mount, Wilson, Greenville, Apex. If you're near any of these towns, stay tuned as I may be coming your way! If your town is NOT listed & you'd like to have me come to your church, please email for a Christian music sampler to submit and let's look at the calendar.

Lighthouse Center Benefit Release
Outer Banks Celebrity Raises Money for Homeless in Virginia Beach
More than 100 people gathered to hear the melodious sounds of singer/songwriter, Kim Kalman. Kim’s eclectic music was a delightfully range of light jazz to Christian, pop and country. The theme for the evening was definitely lending toward inspiration, love and the upcoming Valentine’s Day. February 10, 2012 marked the third year that Ms. Kim Kalman has generously donated her time and talent to raise funds for Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Lighthouse Center. The singer performed a number of songs from her collection of albums including songs from her 2010 Valentine's Day release, “With Love.”
Also present were participants from the Lighthouse Center who displayed one of kind art pieces and told their stories of how art helps to soothe the pain of homelessness.
The benefit concert was held at The Church of the Holy Family, located at 1279 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. The concert raised more than $1,500 which helps provide general support for the Lighthouse Center - serving over 400 homeless men and women each year. Debbie Maloney, Program Director said,- "It was a wonderful night of community support, beautiful music by Kim and exceptional Art! No one wanted the amazing musical night to end.”
Teresa Stanley, Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s board member stated - "Kim's journey from the Outer Banks to bring her gifted voice and music to the VA Beach faith communities, is an annual inspiration to those of us who serve our homeless brothers and sisters in our community".
Volunteers of America Chesapeake is very grateful for the generosity of Kim Kalman and extremely proud of the hard work all of the staff and volunteers put into this event each year. The impact that an event has on the community and the clients we serve cannot be measured. Once again we salute Ms. Kalman for being “called to care”!

Living Room Concert quotes
"Thanks, Janice and Charley for another fabulous party. Kim was great!" Pat

Kim Kalman, local musician, performed at a living room concert at the Southern Shores home of Janice and Charlie Smith.
Ms. Kalman donated the concert as part of a fund raising effort by the local chapter of the League of Women Voters, who are
responsible for preparing the Dare County Citizens' Guide.
Ms. Kalman is well known for her great repertoire of originals, standards, and inspirational material. She welcomes
conversation, questions, and interaction with her audience during her living room concerts. It makes for a very special, enjoyable, and memorable evening for all in attendance.
Kim Kalman also leads music at Holy Redeemer by the Sea Parish, performs locally throughout the year, and hosts the Christian Music summer concert series benefitting The Interfaith Community Outreach Program (ICO) and the local Food Pantry. Kim is a wonderful performer and a person who truly gives back to her community through her music. (Kim@KimKalman.com)

catching up!
It has been a busy month! Had lunch with the Christian Women's Group on Feb 2. Jan Martin & Gail Leonard spoke about our shelter for the homeless in the Outer Banks called Room at the Inn. I did a benefit concert for the homeless shelter in Va Beach, the Light House Center on Feb 10. Sunday Feb 12 I was at the Universal Unitarian Church here in Kitty Hawk and that same night sang for the Feline Hope benefit dinner Paws for Love.

Danny Thomas & St Jude
This came across my emails today: On February 16, the U.S. Postal Service will officially release the new Danny Thomas stamp, just six weeks after what would have been his 100th birthday. And fate being the sly gal that she is, this week our family -- and families worldwide -- will be celebrating another big day: the 50th anniversary of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was certainly the crowning achievement of our father's life and career.
